Greenpower Education Trust Graphic design support

Greenpower Education Trust is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM) charity that engages young people (aged 11-24) in STEM learning through designing and racing electric cars.

As well as STEM education, the project helps develop problem-solving skills, resilience, self-esteem, teamwork, and organisation, valuable skills for the next generation tackling environmental and social challenges.

Enhancing Greenpower’s visual resources

I have created newsletters, fundraising pitch decks, race programmes, how-to guides, and event graphics for Greenpower. Most recently, I refreshed and enhanced their how-to guides, making them more engaging and informative for teams taking part. This included:

  • General guides for each Formula category

  • A primary school teachers' guide

  • Updated portfolio guides, helping students create award-winning documentation

Drawing on my experience helping a local primary school build and race their own Goblin car, I identified ways to improve the primary school portfolio guide, ensuring it was not just visually appealing but also provided practical, creative, and educational enhancements:

  • Encouraging students to research race car graphics and demonstrate how it influenced their own designs

  • Adding guidance on researching careers in STEM

  • Introducing a guide to free design and CAD software available for schools

  • Creating a mini Goblin car net, allowing students to design and build their own model cars

By thinking beyond aesthetics, I ensured these guides were more user-friendly, engaging, and valuable to young learners, helping teachers and students get the most out of the Greenpower experience.
